Since I first played, and most importantly completed both The Legend of Zelda and Metroid on the NES almost 30 years ago by now, on my own, at my little mining hometown of Youssoufia, I have only one objective in life : grow up and make some real magic games of my own.
Pursuing that quest relentlessly ever since, I did all I could along the way to reach the dream to the best of my abilities. As my skills in drawing anything more than a stickman are at around zero to say the least, programming was the obvious choice.
It all started with a Zx Spectrum and the BASIC language back in the 90s, all the way through computer science studies abroad in France then back to Morocco for the first major foot in the industry door as a C++ programmer at Ubisoft Casablanca in 2008.
After a quick stint of 3 months at a Mobile dev agency as an Android programmer after a gap year teaching myself all the decade emergent technologies, I decided to give the Indie adventure a go, inspired by the new wave of amazing Independent Developers.
I've been writing a bunch in detail about the many adventures during the last years over at
Gamasutra Blogs.
In case you feel like knowing all about how I could not attend GDC in 2017 or how I managed to make my first game as an Indie on my own.
The first and only video interview I ever did ! It was super sweet to talk to interested people from the other side of the ocean about Hang There ! :)
